Since 1998, ReinSaat has stood for pioneering work in biodynamic and organic seed breeding and seed production. With passion and a strong commitment to sustainability and quality, we breed and preserve numerous open-pollinated varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers, actively contributing to the preservation of plant biodiversity.

Our location in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria is the heart of a Europe-wide network of over 50 seed propagation partners. Together, we develop climate-adapted, robust and flavourful varieties for a future-oriented agriculture.

In 2024, our founder and owner, Reinhild Frech-Emmelmann, was awarded “Organic Farmer of the Year” by the European Commission – a recognition of our commitment, hard work and our vision for a livable future for generations to come. To strengthen our team, we are looking for:

Seed Processing / Cleaning Employee (m/f/d)

Location: St. Leonhard am Hornerwald | Full-time 40h

Your tasks:

  • Processing of our seeds according to our quality and hygiene standards

  • Threshing and cleaning seeds using modern equipment

  • Performing maintenance and repairs on machinery

  • Ensuring quality by visual inspection, moisture measurement, and pest control

  • Filling seeds and documenting results in our database

  • Keeping seed processing and storage areas clean and organized

  • Collaborating with the laboratory, purchasing, and packaging teams

  • Preparing samples for germination and quality testing

  • Supporting inventory and summer seed production

Your qualifications:

  • Interest in agriculture and working with plants and seeds

  • Careful and clean work style

  • Reliability

  • Basic technical understanding (training provided)

  • Team spirit, commitment, and initiative

  • Flexibility during peak seasons

  • German skills (minimum A2 level)

  • Valid work permit for Austria (for non-EU citizens)

Salary Info (per GlBG 2011):
Starting gross salary: EUR 2,100.00/month for full-time (40h). Depending on qualification and experience, overpayment possible.

Gardener with experience in vegetable cultivation (m/f/d)

Location: St. Leonhard am Hornerwald | Full-time

Your tasks will include:

  • Planning, cultivating, and maintaining vegetable crops for seed production according to biodynamic principles

  • Carrying out and monitoring cultivation trials for seed production

  • Maintenance of growing areas, including irrigation and fertilization

  • Assisting with harvest work

  • Documentation and monitoring of cultivation and production processes

  • Maintenance of agricultural equipment and machinery

  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of seed quality

  • Supporting other departments during the winter months

Your qualifications:

  • Completed training as a gardener or farmer, ideally with a focus on vegetable cultivation, or a comparable qualification

  • Professional experience in vegetable production, preferably in seed cultivation

  • Passion for sustainable agriculture and biodynamic farming methods

  • Sound knowledge in plant care and propagation

  • Experience handling agricultural equipment and machinery

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and precise working style

  • Team player who contributes to shared goals

  • Driver’s license (class F) and forklift license advantageous

  • German skills (minimum A2 level)

  • Valid work permit for Austria (for non-EU citizens)

Entry-level gross salary EUR 2,000.– for a 40-hour week. Depending on qualifications and experience, we are happy to pay above the collective agreement.
