Annual vigorously growing plant from pumpkin family for protected cultivation. Climbing aid is required. This variety from Japan produces bitter fruits up to 25 cm long, which turn orange when ripe. Its bitter fruits have a health-promoting effect. The green fruits are only eaten when cooked. Pinch off the tip of the seed coat before sowing for better germination.
