Tortarello Abruzese
Traditional melon cucumber that is eaten like a cucumber when harvested young. The robust, high-yielding plants produce cream-white skinned fruits measuring 40–80 cm in length. Similar in taste to a cucumber, but with a slightly sweet note. Ideal for fresh consumption and an interesting variety for direct marketing.

Sowing: direct sowing outdoors at the end of April or beginning of May, if no more frosts are to be expected. Sow in cold greenhouse from mid-April, planting in early May

Distances: outdoors 100x30-40 cm, greenhouse cultivation 100x40 cm

Sowing depth: approx. 2 cm
